The south Kent police temporarily suspended the use of laser speed guns in the area, after a court case brought to light the failure of the operator to set up the device properly. The suspension was to allow police chiefs to review whether officers know how to operate the devices correctly. During the review the police chiefs ordered that no fixed penalties or summonses would be issued from the use of laser guns.
