The BBC has today reported that over 5,000 fines for driving in bus lanes issued in Greater Manchester were not valid. This is because the city council has admitted due to "ambiguous phrasing" they did not have the appropriate certification for some of the cameras after 24 December 2008.
The council have confirmed that all bus lane cameras now have full approval.
The council website has a full list of the routes affected, including Oldham Road, Oxford Road, Bury New Road, Greater Ducie Street, Rochdale Road and Wilmslow Road, and the dates the fines were invalid on. Drivers who think they have affected by this should contact the council.
