Changes to the law mean that the Courts will now be able to impose six points on a drivers licence, for drivers who fail to identify who was driving when a motoring offence has occurred. However, opponents of the scheme claim that people who genuinely do not know who was driving or who incorrectly complete the paperwork would be unfairly penalised.
